Café con Leche- Dripping with Pressure: Familial Expectations and Cultivating Support
It's time for a 'cafecito' talk...
Introducing the Latino Resource Center's new series: Café con Leche- a monthly discussion series.
First session: Dripping with Pressure: Familial Expectations and Cultivating Support
BIPOC Students from collectivist communities, like the Latinx and Asian communities, often experience from their own families, immense pressure to ‘succeed against all odds’ as your success is your family’s success. This can also be paired with many other expectations that can be overwhelming at times and it is important to find support, healthy ways to manage these expectations, and communicate with family.
