Bridges to Employment: Veterans as A Strategic Asset Initiative

Bridges to Employment: Setting Up Strategic Assets events assemble executives, managers, faculty, staff, and community leaders from the public and private sectors to engage in a panel discussion to educate veterans on the strengths they bring to their future careers.

Following the panel, veterans in attendance will be immersed in a networking forum, providing an opportunity for veterans to engage with professional partners from numerous corporations to empower veterans with networking skills and relationships necessary to succeed in the civilian sector. The seminars are designed to equip veterans with pertinent networking skills and provide the opportunity to effectively market themselves with a number of opportunities in the civilian sector through open forum.

Student & Community Veterans Learn how to effectively:

-Translate skills developed while serving, and how they can be an assett within the work and community enviornment.

-Learn how to manage expectations when working with employers while navigating your career.

-Put what you learned right into action during the networking forum following the panel. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with networking partners to learn about various career opportunities.

Faculty, staff, employers and community organizations that have internships, research, and other career opportunities will be able to:

-Engage with a number of highly skilled and talented servicemembers who can be an asset to your organization

-Learn how to interpret service related skills in order to better identify how best to support veterans as they transition into the workforce/campus community.

-Identify challenges commonly associated with veterans and learn strategies on how to support servicemembers as they transition into the civilian life and the workforce.
