The NIU Black Law Students Association is partnering with Tyler Elementary school in DeKalb, IL for the first ever BLSA Book Drive. This pandemic has had a particularly negative impact on financially disadvantaged students, and the gaps in reading proficiency has only grown in the last two years. BLSA hopes to inspire the students' desires to read by making sure every 4th and 5th grader has at least two books to take home this summer.

BLSA is asking for new books or those in excellent condition and will also accept monetary donations. Books can be dropped off at the law school in Swen Parson Hall Room 276. All monetary donations will go towards purchasing appropriate books. Donations can be made via cash, check, or electronically through Venmo or CashApp.

This event ends on February 28.
