Beyond Output: Evaluating AI-Generated Information in Writing
About this Event
Generative AI can be a helpful writing tool, but its output is not always accurate or reliable. This session introduces common issues in AI-generated writing, including
- factual errors;
- vague or misleading information; and
- the effects of drift, hallucination, and limited context.
Led by staff from the HASC Writing Center, the webinar offers practical strategies for checking AI-generated content, verifying information, and making thoughtful decisions about when and how to use AI tools in academic writing. Students will leave with a clearer understanding of how to engage with AI more critically and responsibly in their coursework.
