Annual Trans Resilience Brunch

The Trans resilience brunch holds space and centers individuals who identify in the Trans spectrum (including those who are gender non-conforming, non-binary, agender, etc.). Enjoy free food, and hear from NIU faculty member Dr. Katy Jaekel, as we discuss physical and emotional labor put on Trans people and their bodies, and how resilience can impact these experiences. All are welcome to attend as we center and focus on the voices and experiences of the Trans community at NIU and beyond.

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence in the past year. Each year, NIU remembers those lost, honors reslience in our Trans community, and holds space for those impacted.
