University Honors Scholars Research & Artistry Presentations and Reception

Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 4:30pm to 6:00pm

This new event celebrates the accomplishments of the graduating University Honors students who completed the inaugural University Honors Summer Scholars Program during the summer of 2012 and have served as University Honors Scholars throughout the 2012-2013 academic year.  Each University Honors Summer Scholar will deliver a public presentation and participate in a brief question and answer session about his or her University Honors Capstone project.

Wayne Duerkes, Department of History, Honors Capstone: The Development of the Market in the Lower Fox River Valley, 1833-1952

Anastasia Kocher, Department of Political Science, Honors Capstone: Central Asian Regimes Trample Women’s Rights: The Effects of Political Transition on the Status of Women in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan

The event will begin with a reception and conclude with the announcement of the 2013 University Honors Summer Scholars. This is an invitation-only event. If you wish to attend, please contact Mr. Jason Goode ( at the University Honors Program.
