In Progress: An Original, Experimental Movement Theatre Piece
This is not a typical NIU School of Theatre and Dance production. It is not Shakespeare or Moliere; there is not even a script.
Seniors Caitlin Cavannaugh and Christie Coran present a two-woman physical theatre production exploring poetry through movement. The poems explore their past four years here at Northern and all the ups and downs of growing up and being in college.
Themes of some of the poems include love, finding your voice, leaving the past behind, taking risks to grow, and living with a fat-man heart.
The readings will not just be an interpretation but a creation.
“The show is our exploration of theatre itself. Instead of what theatre is, we want to explore what theatre can be.” - Cavannaugh
Expression through narrative can only go so far, don't miss this original movement theatre piece.
